Since 1987, El Buen Samaritano Episcopal Mission has fulfilled a unique role in Austin as a provider of integrated health care, emergency food, advocacy, leadership, development, and basic education for working-poor Hispanic families.
El Buen pioneered the direction of social services in Austin by being located in a stable, but economically disadvantaged neighborhood in the south side of Austin. As the need for its services increased, El Buen has been able to expand its services to help more families in need.
In 2003, El Buen relocated to its current 3-building campus, where it continues to be a pathway for Austin's newest residents to make a better life for themselves and contribute to the community through volunteerism and service.
At El Buen Samaritano, the mission is to transform lives by engaging the strengths of working-poor Hispanic families to promote their successful participation in society.
