Ruth Ann Herrera, our Clinic Manager and Family Nurse Practitioner, enjoys working in a public health setting. She has worked at El Buen for almost four years. “I like to work with the medically underserved and Hispanic population” she said.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University, worked at The Austin/Travis County Health Department, served on the USNS Mercy Ship in the Gulf War and completed the first Nurse Practitioner’s program at the University of Texas.

Ruth Ann obviously enjoys a multicultural setting. Recently she traveled to Spain to walk El Camino de Santiago, an ancient pilgrimage route ending where the remains of Saint James are rumored to be buried. “Along the Camino you have time for contemplation and meeting people from all over the world” Ruth Ann recalls.
