Stacey Barber, our onsite Social Worker, enjoys working at El Buen because the needs of the client come first here. She has experienced a variety of work environments and finds this quality to be rare. Growing up in Italy, Stacey also enjoys being around people with a similar culture. "My work at El Buen allows me to feel close to a culture similar to that in which I was raised," Stacey said.

Through her work, Stacey sees people take brave steps and become empowered, but achieving these results is not easy. Finding effective ways to provide services can be tough and the emotional impact of immigration is sometimes heartbreaking. The rewards come when Stacey witnesses her clients' progress. "Seeing a client go from sad and unwilling to stand up for himself to someone who stands tall and has confidence is priceless" Stacey explains.
