Our licensed social workers provide on-site evaluations and assessments of client needs and link them to resources in the community, especially for health-related issues. Clients can also receive case management for long-term problems. Our volunteer opportunities include:

  Psychiatrist

  Counselor (LCSW or LPC)

  Clerical/ General Office Assistant

Psychiatrist

 Requirements:

  Psychiatrists must be in good standing with the State Board and carry own malpractice insurance.

  Bilingual skills are preferred, but translators can be provided if necessary.

 Volunteers should plan to commit to visit with clients once or twice per month.

Counselor (LCSW or LPC)
Social Work welcomes Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) and Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) to work with clients as needed.

Requirements:

  Counselors should plan to work with at least two clients on an on-going basis via weekly office visits.

  Counselors must have the appropriate license and carry their own malpractice insurance.

  Bilingual skills are required.

Clerical/General Office Assistant
Office volunteers will assist at least twice a month as needed, completing filing tasks, answering phones, creating documents and files, etc. Office assistants will not have direct patient contact.

Requirements:

  A six-month minimum commitment is required.

  Prior office experience preferred.

  Bilingual skills are not required.

Hours: Volunteers are welcome during office hours and can be scheduled according to availability with the social work department. However, volunteers should plan to assist in the office at least twice a month, for approximately three hours each visit.
