El Buen Samaritano offers emergency food assistance to families who cannot afford nutritious food due to financial limitations through our food pantry.

We also encourage individuals and families to participate in other services available on our campus such as our community garden and nutrition classes.

Where is the food pantry located?

The food pantry is located on El Buen’s campus, Building A, at 7000 Woodhue Drive in South Austin.

When is the food pantry open?

Hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We are closed for holidays.

How do I apply for food assistance?

Apply in person during hours of operation between 9am to 11am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. No appointment is necessary.

How long can I expect to receive food assistance?

Clients will be scheduled to receive food twice a month for up to six months

What if I need financial assistance or other resources?

At the time of enrollment, an El Buen specialist will also connect you to other El Buen programs and services you are eligible for.

Does it matter where I live to receive food assistance?

Residents from all counties qualify for our emergency food assistance program.
